Going, Going, Gone!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!!

I honestly am still in awe that 2018 is already here, so hence the subject title, 2017 came and went like none other. So many amazing memories, it is a year for the record books in my solid 20 years of life.  Cheers to a new year.

This week was AWESOME!! Adrian got baptized, which was one of the coolest things ever. So much to talk about, but the coolest thing is that Adrian does not cry very often. In the last week he has cried three times!! It isn’t a bad cry, but a cry of joy, because he has told us over and over again that this is the greatest decision he has ever made in his life. That is a bold things to say, but we can see it in his eyes. He is such an example to me. He lives in a house with 33 other members of the church and 1 person named Josh, who Adrian shared the Book of Mormon with yesterday and he committed to read it. It is going to be a good time. I know that the more that we seek joy in our lives, the greater desire we will have to help and share our joy with other people. Adrian is such a good example of that, and he is one of my closest friends. This is why I love being a missionary.

A funny/miracle experience was during Adrians baptism actually. We had it at the ASU institute building, and right before the baptism started a guy named Johnny walked up to us and asked if he could watch the baptism! We said of course! Then he told us he wanted to join a church, so he wanted to see if he wanted to join ours!! The funny part was that the odds of him showing up to our church building at the time of the baptism were very slim, and he came from North Phoenix on a bus, which is a good 90 minutes ride. How did he know about the baptism? Only God knows, but after the baptism he said that he wanted to meet with missionaries. In fact, he stood up afterwards and said “Is that it?” Meaning is that all I have to do? He asked us if he could just go back and get dressed so he could hop in, but we explained the process to him and he was super excited. God works in perfect ways. We won't be teaching Johnny since he lives far away from this area, but I know that he is on the right path.

2018 is going to be a good one. I would love to hear from you all on what some of your ambitions are for the year, and how you plan on achieving them! Whether it is through email or writing letters, let me know, I love hearing goals and the way that all of us can learn from them! You all rock!
