No Time to Waste

Hey everybody!! This week was pretty awesome. It was unorthodox, but still awesome. We were really busy, and we had lots of zone stuff to do since transfers were this week, so I was pretty anxious to get back out and work. We didn't have much time to find new people to teach, but we did teach quite a few lessons. So that was awesome.  Here is our funny story from the week. Caution: it may be a little hard to ingest for some of you. Not really, but it is hilarious, so here is how it went down: Saturday, May 27th. 2:15pm: Went by a potential investigator named Kenneth. As we approached the door, his brother came in behind us, walked in, and called for his mom. As soon as she stepped outside, we were done for. She went off on how we enslaved the black people of the world, and how it has been this way since the beginning of time. According to her philosophy, Adam and Eve were African-American, and they were deceived by the servant, who wasn't Satan, but a random white gu

Mother's Day Skype! Hey!!! I hope all of you are going awesome. This week was pretty awesome and busy, which is always a good thing. We had some pretty cool experiences that really helped me, so I hope they will help you too. First off, this week my companion and I did something called "Zone Recommendations" where we meet with the missionaries in our zone and review their strengths, improvements, and just think about what we can do to help them improve. It took up about 6-8 hours to do, so it was spread out during the week, but it was awesome to see how many changes people can make when they set goals and make plans for themselves to grow. I would encourage every single one of you to set personal goals for you, your schooling, your career, family, whatever it may be, and I promise you that will help you see change and see improvement, and you will know how you can continue to do so. I have tried it out and it has made a huge difference for me in my life. I'

Best District in the mission!   Hey everybody!!! I hope each of you had a fantastic week this week, and a Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there!! You are all awesome. You are making a huge difference in the world, more than you know!!! We had an awesome week this week, lots of exciting things are happening!!  First of all, we met a family this week who is super awesome. We saw these two kids mowing the lawn of a member of our church, so we stopped and talked to them for a bit. Their names are Warren and Kwas! They are both super studly guys, and we taught them about the church and we are now meeting with them and their sister and dad!! They should be progressing towards a baptismal date by the end of the week. They even came to church yesterday which was fantastic! It was super cool to see how hard working they are. We always see them out helping other people around them, mowing lawns, yard work, all of the above they are doing it! it is super cool. It makes me want

The Heat of the Moment

Hey everyone!!! So, I don't have much time, but things are great here.  I'll just get started fast. This week we did two exchanges. The first one was with Elder Ocampo,  who is from Conception, Chile, I think I spelled that right, but yeah.  He is a Spanish missionary and being from Chile, he doesn't speak much  English, so that was pretty intense overall. We had a really fun day.  He taught me some Spanish, and we taught some lessons where I would  teach in a English and he would in Spanish. Good thing most of our  investigators are bilingual. Anyways, I couldn't understand most of  what he taught, but the feeling I got when he taught was so cool. I  couldn't help but smile as he spoke. I know the  gospel, is true because I felt the power of it through a language I  barely understand. It is so amazing.  The second exchange was with Elder Christensen, one of the assistants to the  President. It was so cool. He is such a great missionary and taught me  so much. He

The Golf Squad!  Hey everyone!! No, I really can't believe it is already May. I am  starting to get used to the heat which is nice. I am glad I  entered the mission field in the summer because I know what to expect.  It is becoming more hot each day. Fun, Fun. I went golfing today so I  am pretty tired...this might be a little shorter. We will see. The Baptism!!! Best thing this week was that Kyra got baptized!!!! It was a super  cool experience. We met with her pretty much every day this last week  except for Tuesday, I think, to pump her up and make sure she didn't have  concerns, and the baptism was awesome. She got pretty emotional  afterwards. She asked me to give her the gift of the Holy Ghost that  next day, which was super cool. I love how the Spirit gives me the  words to say in those instances. I have no recollection of what I  said, which is a sign that they were not my words. It was awesome, and  she loves church, and she is starting to teach her three kid
